About our speakers
Julien co-founded Somewhere Else, a London-based creative agency specialised in immersive technologies (VR/AR/MR) and immersive tech consultancy. Julien has helped to deliver immersive experiences for Adidas, UEFA, Samsung and KPMG. He is a guest lecturer on immersive technologies at INSEEC London and CREA Geneve.
Julien’s talk will focus on designing for virtual embodiment, i.e. virtually stepping into someone else’s shoes. His recent project involved building a simulator allowing psychiatric nurses to practice their skills on a virtual human, known as SUSAN. His talk will explore what they learnt when designing for this new format of experiential learning.
Joe is a UX Designer living in London, currently working as the Lead UX Manager at Zappar – an AR platform and creative studio. He is interested in behavioural science, sociology and psychology and an advocate of using motion, sound, colour and typography to create accessible experiences for all different users.
Joe’s talk will analyse how we, as humans, learn and how we can use augmented reality to improve just that.
Angelina is an experience designer, director and producer specialising in storytelling through immersive technologies. She has worked with global brands including Nike, Samsung, Dove, TATA Communications and Formula 1. She previously worked on SOMNAI, a high end immersive theatre project, and now runs her own company where she creates highly innovative technology driven multi-sensory experiences.
Angelina’s talk will examine what is meant by multisensory XR and why XR tech is changing the way we interact with things. She will discuss her journey into the industry, with a focus on her latest work – an experimental research-based project exploring sexual arousal through artificial stimulation of the senses.
Hands-on AR demo after the talks…
Jonathan Forder Managing Director/Lead Developer at Discover Studios will be demoing a range of different AR examples to showcase the importance of UX when building your AR applications.
