muxl 2017

Friday 10th November 9.00am – Late

De Vere West One Oxford Circus

On November 10th, MUXL was proud to present its third edition of the annual Mobile UX London Conference. This year’s event welcomed over 200 attendees to the distinguished De Vere West One venue in Oxford Circus for a day of compelling presentations, hands-on workshops and opportunities for strengthening the community of UX experts in the UK and beyond.

Our host Jiri Jerabek, Principal Interaction Designer at Intuit, kicked off the event by setting the tone for an exciting day ahead and introducing the keynote speakers, Vibha Bamba & Sukhada Jog from Airbnb’s HQ in Silicon Valley. Their exploration of the advantages and challenges their team encountered throughout the development of the mobile app for hosts using the holiday rental platform made their talk “Designing for the alleyway: Addressing the Discomfort of Travel” one of the immediate highlights of MUXL2017. The Brief (from Orange)

Practically anyone can now access VR environments using a standard smartphone and an affordable headset. Creating & sharing your own 360 degree environments is gaining popularity with a just a smartphone or a dedicated VR/360 camera. How will these environments alter our daily communications? How can we shape the scenes and settings to support those exchanges? And what practical applications can we imagine for everyday life?

These are some of the directions to explore in this Design Hackathon on Virtual Reality environments, allowing designers to craft these imagined scenes using some of the most cutting edge tools for VR design.
